About Us

The Cal-Sierra Tree Farm was founded in 1960. Charles "Chuck" McKim, who at that time was an employee of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CDF), purchased the 50-acre property in 1959 and soon after started the tree farm. He first began planting the traditional, slow-growing trees like the Silver Tip.

New plantings and more varieties of trees were added over the years, including everyone's favorite traditional Christmas trees such as Douglas Fir, Blue Spruce, and White Fir...just to name a few of our visitors' favorites.

Today, the Cal-Sierra Tree Farm is still a family owned and operated choose and cut Christmas tree farm, with children and grandchildren now joining the family tradition.

So enjoy your day with us! Explore the trails that wind throughout the majestic trees, and stay for lunch at our beautiful picnic grounds. If you didn't bring your lunch, we now offer hotdogs, popcorn, beverages and other snacks! We think you'll enjoy your time spent here as much as we do.
